POS System in Qatar

Noor Digital supplies and sets up POS systems for restaurants, cafés and retail shops in Qatar: the till software, the hardware it runs on and receipt layouts in Arabic and English. Every branch is set up on site by our Doha team, not shipped in a box, with a number to call on a Thursday night when the printer stops.

01
At the point of sale

What does a POS system need to do in a Qatar shop or restaurant?

Noor Digital starts from a short list the till must never fail at: take an order quickly, print a receipt in the right language, keep working when the internet does not, and tell the owner at the end of the night what was sold. Everything else is a feature.

  • A cafe in Msheireb needs speed and a simple menu screen
  • Restaurants need table management, a kitchen printer and split bills
  • Retail needs barcode scanning and stock counts without closing the shop
  • Ramadan moves the trading day; National Day brings a retail rush
  • Switching during a busy period means we staff the first two days
02
Hardware that fits

What hardware comes with a POS system, and can I use what I have?

Noor Digital supplies the hardware or works with what is already in the shop, and will say plainly which is cheaper for you. A standard counter needs a terminal or tablet, a receipt printer, a cash drawer and a scanner. A restaurant adds a kitchen printer and sometimes handhelds.

  • Whether the receipt printer can form Arabic characters at all
  • Whether the terminal stays fast with a full basket at peak
  • Whether the cash drawer opens from the printer or separately
  • Whether the scanner reads the barcodes your suppliers actually use
  • Keep a spare printer; a stranded counter means handwritten bills
03
Payments and delivery

How does a POS handle card payments and delivery apps in Qatar?

Noor Digital sets the till up around the payment methods your customers use: cash, local debit cards on the NAPS network, credit cards and phone wallets. The card terminal comes from your bank under your own merchant agreement, and where it supports linking, the amount is not typed twice.

  • Aggregator orders from Talabat and Snoonu should reach the same queue
  • Otherwise somebody re-keys tickets all evening and stock figures drift
  • We open both accounts and test the connection during scoping
  • Selling online raises the same question for your payment gateway and stock
  • Loyalty and delivery numbers are personal data under Law No. 13 of 2016
04
Installation and support

How does Noor Digital install and support a POS system?

Noor Digital installs on site, in the shop, before trading hours. The sequence: agree the menu or product list, load and price it, build receipt layouts in both languages, create accounts and permissions per shift, test with real orders, then train the staff who will be on the counter.

  • Modifiers - no ice, extra shot, size - outnumber the printed menu
  • Loading them properly is what makes the till fast later
  • Individual logins, so a void can be asked about
  • Void and discount rights held by a supervisor, logged for the owner
  • Support from Doha by phone, on site when a call cannot fix it
05
Plan the investment

What changes the price of a POS system in Qatar?

Noor Digital quotes a POS setup from a written scope and the figure does not move afterwards. The variables: how many tills and branches, how much hardware you need against what you own, whether the software is bought outright or by subscription, how many products load, and what it connects to.

  • One till printing bilingual receipts is a small piece of work
  • Three branches with consolidated stock and an accounting link is a project
  • Cloud products charge per till monthly; local installs charge annual support
  • A proposal showing only hardware is hiding the running cost

Questions about POS System in Qatar

Ask us directly
01

Can the POS print receipts in Arabic?

Yes, once the printer can. Noor Digital sets the receipt layout in Arabic and English and prints it on your own hardware before handover, because rendering depends on the printer's character set as much as on the software. Cheap thermal units break Arabic letterforms, and that shows on the first receipt handed over.

02

Does the POS keep working if the internet goes down?

Yes, with the right product. Noor Digital specifies POS software that continues taking sales offline and syncs when the connection returns, then proves it by pulling the cable during installation. A cloud till that stops at the counter whenever the line drops is not suitable for a busy shop, whatever the demonstration showed.

03

Can I run several branches on one system?

Yes. Noor Digital sets up multi-branch POS with each shop trading independently while the owner sees consolidated sales, stock and staff performance from one login. Transfers between branches, branch-specific pricing and separate cash-up per location are all normal requirements, and all worth agreeing before installation rather than after.

04

Does the POS take card payments and delivery-app orders?

Noor Digital sets the till up for cash, NAPS debit cards, credit cards and phone wallets; the card terminal comes from your bank and is linked to the till where it supports that. Delivery orders from apps such as Talabat and Snoonu can reach the same screen where the POS product and the app connect, which we test during scoping.

05

Do you supply the hardware, or can I use my own?

Noor Digital does both. We supply terminals, printers, drawers and scanners as one package, or inspect what you already own and say which pieces are worth keeping. The item most often not worth keeping is the receipt printer, usually because it cannot print Arabic properly or is too slow when a queue forms.

06

How long does it take to set up a POS?

Noor Digital installs a single-till setup in a day once the product list is ready, and a multi-branch restaurant across several days including training. The slowest part is never the installation. It is entering and pricing the menu or catalogue correctly, modifiers and offers included, which is work somebody has to do properly once.
